Embark on an expedition through the rich soundscape of Turkey and parts of Egypt and Iran led by musicians trained at the Istanbul Conservatory of Music. The trio will play traditional melodies with quarter tones and folkloric melodies from all over Turkey. They created these sounds using traditional Turkish instruments: bendir, daf, darbuka and rik for percussion; flutes kaval, kaval and ney and zurna plus duduk for wind instruments; and electric baglama.

The result is eclectic sounds that are both sultry and festive in nature. The music of Turkey is one of the most unique, bewitching, capable of capturing the attention and interest of any person at arm’s length. Let these rare sounds inspire you to create new works.
