Description
A New Level of Transparency:
Uni-L is a modern mastering limiter designed to enhance loudness, clarity, and musicality.
Developed in collaboration with mastering engineer Bob Macca, Uni-L combines sophisticated adaptive algorithms with deep
and precise control at every stage of the process.
Combining the tonal integrity of wideband limiting with multiband detection, the Uni-L delivers clear, natural loudness
even at high gain. Program-dependent preview and bypass modes allow the Uni-L to perfectly adapt
to complex audio signals—all under your control. Two-stage limiting and integrated clipping can be precisely balanced,
providing unique control over the contribution of each stage to overall gain reduction. The Uni-L lets you go as loud as you need, but
more importantly, it preserves the purity of sound and the vitality of music without ever losing creative control.
Key points
- Achieve modern loudness while keeping music open, dynamic, and alive
- Use sophisticated adaptive algorithms to preserve tonal purity and transient clarity
- Precisely adjust the spectral and dynamic balance between limiting and clipping stages
- Prioritize musically important transient moments to maintain impact and presence
- Solve problems with precise and independent control at every stage of the process
- Shape the sound to the needs of the music and create masterpieces from any material
Key Features
Frequency-based broadband limiting
Uni-L is a wideband limiter controlled by a unique multi-band detection channel, providing
frequency-sensitive limiting without tonal shifts or disruptive transients. This determines
Uni-L’s adaptive monitoring and automatic shutoff mode, continuously adjusting timings according to spectral and dynamic content and the direction you specify.
The result is transparent, musically responsive limiting that preserves tonal clarity and transients
while achieving volume with remarkably low distortion.
In perfect balance
The Uni-L combines a slow midrange limiter, a fast peak limiter, and a tightly integrated clipper,
all working together. With extensive control over how and when each stage operates—for example, focusing
on low frequencies or limiting only high frequencies—you can precisely balance volume,
dynamics, and transients. A flexible transient detector allows you to focus on important transients
for example, bypassing only a small signal to gain additional power, while preserving the rest of the signal.
Complete creative control
Along with essential features like the additional True Peak mode, LUFS metering, and flexible stereo linking, Uni-L offers several new features.
Low-frequency stereo linking maintains a focused low-frequency range while allowing for independent processing elsewhere.
Detailed release time adjustments and a transient preview function allow for precise timing adjustments across the entire spectrum of parameters.
With precise, independent control, you can confidently address issues without unexpected side effects.
Work fast and stay flexible
Not every task requires detailed setup. Uni-L includes an easy-to-use quick-launch system with carefully tuned presets
and a single macro slider that controls the entire limiter for quick adjustments to each preset. As you adjust the macro slider, you can see
how the key parameters change, helping you understand what’s going on under the hood. This allows you to achieve great results in seconds
while maintaining full control whenever you need it.
