Omnisphere Cobalt is a collection of 120 cinematic patches for the Omnisphere 2.8/3 synthesizer by Spectrasonics. It includes 188 exclusive sound sources that were recorded and developed specifically for this soundset. It uses only these new sound sources and does not recycle the standard ones in Omnisphere or any other set.
With Cobalt, I took a different approach to creating patches. Instead of using recordings of real instruments or objects, I created a large number of sounds using various synthesizers. I then recorded these sounds, ran them through a crazy array of weird processors, and finally used them as the source material in Omnisphere. The result is a collection of patches that sound organic yet inorganic, giving them a very unique character.
