Iconic semi-modular analog synthesizer

Unique hardware oscillators based on wavetable + sample

Each oscillator section controlled by physically modeled filters

Powerful modern reimagining of the cult vintage classic

The Analog Icon

HX-20 is based on one of the most recognizable and beloved analog monosynths in the world, known for its versatile semi-modular architecture, iconic front panel design, and storied musical history. Released in the late 70s, this small, dual-oscillator monosynth has a lot to offer and continues to be an inspiring studio partner for artists around the world.

More than the sum of its parts.

This synth’s success wasn’t driven by any single design consideration, instead it benefits from a combination of great features, fantastic sound, and compelling value. From the powerful analog oscillators to the versatile filter section, from the semi-modularity that allows integration with external inputs and larger systems to the relative lightness and portability, there’s simply a lot to love here.

The Dynamic Duo

HX-20 is the debut release in UVI’s new HX series, leveraging our wealth of experience in hardware sampling and physical modelling to create flexible, modern instruments with an unmistakable hardware soul, thanks in part to a new hybrid approach combining hardware samples and wavetables with physically modelled filters. With its own unique hybrid sensibility, we thought it would be the perfect instrument to get started.

The Hybrid -X Engine

HX-20 is similar to many of our vintage instruments in that you get a deep understanding of the hardware, but it stands out in two important ways; the addition of two new layers of hardware wavetables and physically modelled filters, giving you a total of three layers of samples to tweak, all with that analogue charm you know and love. Like the hardware we chose, this unique combination of features creates a powerful and compelling sonic instrument with incredible character.
