PSP Flare (originally PSP Flow*) is a new type of psychoacoustic compressor that provides exceptional volume stability without the usual side effects associated with heavy compression.
Designed with input from post-production engineer Paolo Pasquariello, PSP Flare uses a psychoacoustic approach inspired by advanced post-production technologies to subtly maintain track level consistency.
Thanks to this, the sound remains naturally dynamic without noticeable compression effects. Although it was specifically designed for film and TV/video post-production, its unique behavior can provide superior results in almost any application, and it is great for leveling elements in a dense mix.
- Single-band compression algorithm with unique probability.
- Wide compression knee.
- Peak or RMS level detector.
- Optional automatic release reconfiguration.
- Wide range of threshold and coefficient settings.
- Modeling of the preamplifier section at the input.
- Lookahead to reduce transients through the compressor.
- Smooth control of the high pass filter and side chain link.
- Optional automatic gain.
- Dry/compression mix adjustment.
- Brick wall output limiter with adjustable level and response time.
- 64-bit double-precision floating point math for ultra-low total filter errors and proper filter performance across the entire frequency spectrum.
