XTComp from Kiive Audio is a FET compressor plugin that recreates the sound of the most popular hardware compressors of our time. Known for its speed, versatility and character, it’s essential for crushing drums, drums and bass hits, as well as driving acoustic guitars. This also makes it a versatile vocal compressor plugin.
XTComp has different ratios, each functioning as a separate compressor with its own attack, release and knee characteristics. Depending on the settings you use, you can recreate the sound of an LA-2A or 1176. Improve the tone of your recordings with DIST modes that introduce 2nd or 3rd order harmonics, simulating the drive of tube or tape equipment.
Use British mode for aggressive all-button compression.
UK mode offers aggressive all-button compression, delivering the iconic pump and breath effects heard on many major records. This mode is a nod to classic British compressors, known for their unique character and ability to add density and energy to tracks. It’s ideal for achieving classic, premium sounds on drums, vocals and more.
Tame harsh signals with Sidechain and Saturation Filter The
sidechain filter options on the XTComp allow it to suppress low-frequency rumble, delivering punchy detail and smooth analogue sound. By adding a saturation circuit with analogue modeling, XTComp allows you to add tape-like harmonics and high-frequency compression to your recordings. Soften fragile, thin and harsh sounds by infusing them with analog warmth.
Use digital-only features for more control than hardware.
Kiive Audio has taken this compressor to the next level with plugin-only options. Dual mixing knobs are provided for the compressor and saturator modules, allowing for parallel processing. A Gain Link switch has also been added, making A/B comparisons and level matching easier.
