The Evolution Texas Twang is a Tele-style guitar with two single-coil pickups. The bridge pickup offers a nasal sound perfect for percussive chicken picking and bright crunch tones, while the neck pickup offers a rich, full-bodied tone ideal for softer tones. Since the signals from both pickups were recorded separately, you can customize any pickup combination to your liking.
The guitar was recorded and performed by Chris Bullard, a seasoned session guitarist and aspiring country singer-songwriter. His experience touring Texas and Nashville adds authenticity to the guitar samples. The clarity and grace of his guitar playing are evident in the library’s many articulations, from picking to those particularly useful in country music, such as plucked articulations for chicken picking.
The library was developed in collaboration with William Dergantz, who oversaw the project’s development, edited the guitar samples, and added factory presets. His attention to detail was invaluable, setting a high bar for the library’s quality.
The sample set was also run through a distortion pedal for an enhanced signal. This distortion pedal, well-known among country guitarists, is modeled after the legendary warm, overdriven sound of the Trainwreck amp.
