THE SOUND OF BERLIN
Among the dust of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the harsh, cold sound of techno was born. It ruled Berlin until its hard edges were stripped away in favor of the sparse layers and abstract elements of minimalist techno. Minimal was also developed: its sparse percussion mixed with polished grooves and pulsating synths created the atmospheric, ethereal techno of modern Berlin. DEEP MATTER create just such a sound, embodied by labels such as Steyoyoke, Crossfrontier Audio and Stil vor Talent.

EXCELLENT AND POWERFUL
DEEP MATTER pulses with moody bass, melancholy pads and crisp percussion, reflecting the euphoric darkness of ethereal Berlin techno. Found sounds such as empty cans and marbles provide texture, while recycled hand drums add richness and depth to emotional soundscapes. Tuned drum sounds and production-ready patterns combine with subbass, drone presets and analogue synth pads to create a powerful punch, while field recordings in Berlin give the expansion an authentic feel.
