Q 632 is a modestly updated version of Magpha EQ, a little-known and obsolete plugin whose unusual phase-modeled filters earned a reputation for being a smooth and accurate equalizer, not inferior to $9,000 analog mastering equalizers. Seeing an opportunity to revive this exciting technology, Kush contacted John Flynn, the mastering engineer who developed Magpha, and obtained an exclusive license to both Magpha and the EQ algorithms behind it.

The Q 632 is the first Kush product to utilize Magpha’s DSP EQ, adding an expanded gain range, an updated preset manager, and Apple Silicon compatibility. The Magpha EQ’s core DSP (and its tight, phased sound) remains intact and will gradually be rolled out to all Kush products. tl;dr: If you want a simple, minimalistic EQ that won’t harm any part of your sound no matter what you do with it, then the q.632 is the one for you.
