At its core, the LG Drive is an elegantly simple device, a 2-Stage Tube Saturation colorbox whose thick, creamy distortion is taken straight from the AR-1’s variable mµ compressor. When these distortions are combined with a simple yet powerful set of filters and then blended into the dry signal, the result is a deceptively powerful tone-shaping tool that rivals (and often surpasses) EQ in its ability to drastically thicken and fill anemic drums, elevate and straighten out boring, rebellious vocals, add clarity and definition to dull bass, and drastically change the tone and atmosphere of the entire mix.
