STORMDRUM began with QUANTUM LEAP’s award-winning producer NICK PHOENIX heading to the Los Angeles recording plant to record some big grooves for the movie trailers he was working on. He hired the world’s best percussionists (Tal Bergman, Richie Garcia, Michito Sanchez) and filled Studio A with hundreds of drums. The record factory said they had never seen anything like it. After a complex set-up, they were ready to go. Everything was recorded via Neuman microphones in the SSL Console on 2-inch analog tape and then converted to 24-bit, 88.2 khz digital format.
