This library for EZbass was created with the aim of creating the perfect tool to bridge the gap between two genres in which bass has been the rhythmic backbone from the very beginning: funk and fusion.
The bass guitar in question is a finely crafted modern instrument designed to deliver the highest standard of sound, dynamics and tonal depth. Since this bass guitar had to cope equally well with the intricacies of jazz and rock sounds, it was chosen from a number of instruments as it fit the bill perfectly.
The sample was recorded using traditional fingerpicking and the quintessential slap technique, as well as a completely new articulation for the EZbass called lefthand mute. The latter will allow you to achieve a coherent and distinct performance, very reminiscent of a mute on an electric guitar and is crucial to the sound of these genres.
In addition to the bass itself, this EBX also includes a wide selection of presets, as well as a basic collection of basslines tailored for funk and fusion. The presets cover the entire spectrum from classical to modern and include everything from basic and muted to big, spacious and rich.
The presets even include an FM synth layer, allowing you to smoothly layer a classic synth bass texture over a regular instrument. What’s more, MIDI contains all the necessary components to create any funk or fusion track.
