Royal Upright Y5 is based on robotic deep multisampling of the modern Yamaha U5 piano with sostenuto pedal. The direct and intimate sound of the Royal Upright Y5 is ideal for jazz and pop performers, vocal accompaniment, and any musical setting where the sound of a giant concert grand piano might be too overwhelming.
The Yamaha U5 piano was first introduced in 1967. It was designed as a high quality, affordable piano that would appeal to a wide range of players, and quickly became one of Yamaha’s most popular models, and remains so to this day.
