Phonetic, which merges the organic and digital worlds in the best tradition of previous Riot Audio instruments, is an innovative vocal morphing engine for Kontakt. It uses a wide selection of single and double phonemes (ah, eh, ba, la, vv, and so on) as the basis for sound design. Although technically a sample library, the architecture and resulting sounds are more reminiscent of a synthesizer.
Phonetic’s pulses, pads, keys and other sounds are not limited to the ranges of the original performers and can therefore be played across the entire keyboard range. Be prepared to be mesmerized by a smorgasbord of looping, swirling and gradually unfolding velvety soundscapes.
Phonetic is a syllable-based vocal morphing engine for Kontakt. It contains 44 female and male renditions of vowels and consonants recorded in a wide range of keys, arranged in three layers: Body, Loops and Air.
In total, over 3,000 possible sound combinations can be transformed into evolving pads, pulses, pad/pulse combinations, as well as risers and key sounds using the Shape, Morphing and Movement controls in the user interface.
Phonetic contains 125 presets, ranging from minimalistic loops of individual female syllables in the form of smoothly evolving formant-filtered pads to harsh, distorted risers.
