ColourCopy is a virtual analog effect inspired by classic BBD (bucket-brigade delays) but expanded with modern features. We called our new brainchild “Colour Copy” because it can provide the type of colorization that people still love in classic BBD devices, but with a wider range of colors. The Colour Copy started life as a little delay unit called the Lyrebird that we built into a Repro-1, but it sounded too good not to develop it further and turn it into an FX plugin.

Colours As we developed, we soon realised that we could capture the essence of the entire range of classic Bucket Brigade delays, from low-end rumbling, slowly evolving delays to high-resonance, screaming characters. A single knob allows you to continuously mix five finely tuned ‘colour’ macros. The differences may be subtle, but each one is rich in detail. Aside from the obvious differences in frequency bandwidth, each one has its own noise and dynamic characteristics, frequency loss over time and a few other qualities. The Saturation knob controls how noticeable or subtle these characteristics should be, in case you want to tone down the colouration to better fit into the mix. Finally, the Brightness knob allows you to adjust the bandwidth. Flexibility Colour Copy is capable of a huge number of different delay-based effects. With delays ranging from sub-millisecond to several seconds, you can create anything from comb filter and flanger/chorus effects to regular ping-pong delays and longer ‘looper’ effects. Routing options let you mix or swap input and feedback signals independently, or even invert the feedback phase for various phase-cancelling effects when the delay time is set very short. Also, unlike hardware BBD units, Colour Copy’s left and right output ‘taps’ can be placed anywhere along the delay lines. This feature lets you independently move echoes ‘forward in time’ for ping-pong or ‘rush’ delays, as well as various stereo chorus or flanger effects. You never thought you’d need three different ways to create a ping-pong effect! Animation image share Colour Copy comes with a stereo LFO that can be used to modulate the delay speed, tap positions or delay amplitude. With a range of 0.05Hz to 20Hz (as time: 20s to 50ms), the LFO can create chorus, vibrato and tremolo effects. Increase the modulation depth for deep pitch shifting. The envelope signal derived from the input signal can be used to modulate the frequency and depth of the LFO, adding real-time dynamics to the effects. Colour Copy comes with the obligatory ducking compressor, but with a unique feature: you can choose whether to duck the entire delay output or just the feedback signal. This latter option leaves the very first delay untouched, preserving the overall stereo “space” while preventing the sonic chaos that high regeneration often causes. Performance Control

Some people like to play around with their BBD rig by raising and lowering the regeneration by turning the velocity knob. We’ve taken Colour Copy a step further in this direction by adding a couple of creative features: firstly, a freeze button that loops the contents of the delay buffer for as long as you like. Secondly, MIDI key control so you can play Colour Copy like a mono synth – every octave up doubles the delay speed.

Key Features

  • BBD-style analogue delay for the smoothest pitch bends
  • Unique saturation chromatic aberration for non-linear effects like distortion/resonance
  • 1ms to 1s or host-synced timebase, scalable with a 25% to 400% velocity control
  • Dynamic ducking via envelope
  • LFO (with dynamic frequency and depth) can modulate velocity, tap position or amplitude.
  • MIDI note tracking and Freeze button (infinite loop) for the most daring experimental effects
  • Powerful preset browser with tag and/or text search functions
  • Independent input and feedback routing parameters allow all possible stereo and mono combinations
  • 100 factory presets, compatible with NKS
  • Instant UI resizing from 50% to 200%
  • Individual remote control via MIDI CC, 14-bit resolution option
  • Oddsound MTS-ESP support

Changes in version 1.0.2

  • Support for the latest macOS versions (Sonoma / Sequoia)
  • CLAP support (www.cleveraudio.org)
  • Native Apple silicon support for Pro Tools (AAX)
  • Keybinding (experimental feature)
  • Added 50% and 60% GUI scaling options
  • VST2 to VST3 migration support for IPluginCompatibility hosts
  • Linux version now supports MTS-ESP microtuning
  • Several browser improvements, including additional drag and drop functionality
  • Improved parameter automation in Pro Tools
  • Several improvements in the Windows installer

Notes:

  • This is the final version with VST2 support
  • Also the final version with 32-bit Windows support
  • AAX and CLAP versions are 64-bit only

Changes in version 1.0.1

  • Native Apple Silicon (M1) support
  • macOS Big Sur compatibility
  • Improved soundset installation
  • Pre-installed Browser: Added “banking” smart folders
  • Oddsound MTS-ESP support
  • Minimum SSE4.2 required on Intel/AMD systems
  • macOS: 32-bit support dropped
  • Various minor fixes and improvements
  • Known issue: Scope Effect option not working

Uninstall previous versions.
If you don’t want to lose your settings or saved presets, delete the data folder.
This is the easiest way to clean.
If you want to keep your settings or reinstall,
delete the “com.u-he.(ProdutName).user.*” files in the Data/Support folders.
This will only cancel previous registrations.

Generate a license

Run our keygen, select the product.
Enter your first and last name.
The format should be “Xxxxx”. Use only the first letter with a capital letter.
Click “GENERATE” in the keygen.
A pair of full name and serial number will be generated.
note :
Due to the protection scheme, the generated name may contain extra characters after your last name.
Always remind that you use the generated name with the keygen.
Otherwise, the license will not be accepted.

Install / Activate

Install the plugin. Run the plugin.
It runs in “demo mode”.
If it does not start in demo mode, then you made a mistake somewhere during the previous installation.
Remove everything and try again.
The program will ask you to enter the license.
In Filterscape, you need to select “enter serial number” in the settings menu.
Enter the generated license.
Enjoy!

Note

Our keygen generates a pair of “real name + serial number” exactly the same as the purchased version.

However, their product has a blacklist system for the licensee name.
Words like “Team”, “Air”, “Destination”, “R2R” and some real names are blacklisted.

When you use words or names from the blacklist, you will get a time bomb sooner or later.

But don’t worry, since you are using a normal name, this rarely happens.
When you get a “time bomb”, delete the old registration and try a new one.
You also need to think about what you did

R2R and our keygen does not check all the words or names that are blacklisted
because the developer constantly adds these tricks in updates.
