Elektronik 25 by Soundiron captures the rare historical sounds of the unique Elektronika EM-25. This synthesizer was made somewhere in the Soviet Union and has since become a collector’s item.

The EM-25 is a polyphonic synthesizer with a strong emphasis on strings, organ, and brass instruments. It features a 4-octave keyboard, as well as multiple curve, modulation, and filter controls. Elektronik 25 features sustain, staccato, and a collection of FX pad sounds.

We recorded the instrument’s articulations in wide stereo and direct line input. We then created over 40 dynamic, atmospheric pads from the original content for ease of use. Elektronik 25 offers a rare look at sought-after Soviet-era synthesizers, and the rich string sounds will enhance any composition.

We’ve packed the graphical interface with a ton of great sound-shaping controls, giving you the ability to distort the sound in a variety of ways. You can control volume, attack, release, transient offset, vibrato, and octave layering.

The Glide control slider lets you play legato and portamento leads. You’ll also find an adaptable low-pass system with options for shape, modulation target, speed, intensity, tempo sync, and rise time.

You can also choose from 13 low-pass, high-pass, and FX filters with customizable modulation controls including velocity, modulation wheel, expression, aftertouch, key position, and a step sequencer table. Finally, you can use our customizable arpeggiator with a built-in velocity sequencer table and control over arpeggio direction, note sync, swing, randomization, and duration.

Elektronik 25 was recorded in a dry studio using a pair of Neumann TLM 103 large-diaphragm mics and a direct line input. We carefully recorded its standard presets with sustain and staccato samples. The included octave, vibrato and effects rack gives you an easy to use interface to fully customize and shape its fat analog sound to suit a variety of creative styles. The library is equipped with flexible controls such as swell, pitch glide, attack, release, vibrato and octave.

There is also a full DSP effects rack including convolution reverb with dozens of unique spaces such as cathedrals, churches, halls, bunkers, garages, tunnels, chambers, rooms and a variety of otherworldly FX impulses for full exploration and an endless variety of strange and unexpected sonic manipulations.

  • Advanced controls for Performance, Vibrato, Glide Speed, LFO, Filter, Arpeggio and a full FX rack
  • Sustain, Staccato, FX Pads and Sound Design Samples
  • Turn the Glide slider up for monophonic legato or drop it to 0 for standard polyphonic mode
  • Octave knob gradually adds a doubling effect to the lower and upper octaves for more density and power
  • Convolution Reverb with 119 different cathedrals, churches, chambers, rooms, halls and special effects impulses
  • Full multi-effects rack with EQ, filter, phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp/speaker simulation and more
