The epic conclusion to the Thunder series: Thunder X3M – 16.000 samples of total percussion madness! It completely reworks the previous volumes and collects a huge number of new samples combined in a new highly intuitive percussion engine.

About X3M Grom

The idea behind the original Thunder series was to capture unique combinations of instruments played live – a mix of timpani and toms on set, Bulgarian tupans, snare drums and more. This series was highly acclaimed, and after some further experimentation with the second volume, the third part even featured a 15-piece percussion ensemble recorded in a large hall and playing together!

THUNDER X3M takes all three previous installments of the Thunder series and breathes new life into sample material by implementing a powerful engine that allows the user to manipulate and display samples. This, along with a huge number of brand new recorded samples, opens
musical possibilities for every composer! The entire Thunder series was recorded with multiple dynamic layers (up to 10) and circular algorithms (up to 27 per sound).

New Thunder Engine

The concept of the new Thunder engine is quite simple – the keyboard range is divided into 12 zones to which you can assign different sounds. After creating the template of your choice, just plug and play – nothing else is needed!

In addition to this, the engine also allows you to customize individual zones as well as the entire mapped ensemble patch with different effects, mic positions and two custom vintage analog hardware chains. By pairing them with natural and organic recordings, you get the ultimate in flexibility when it comes to sound.
Once you download the Thunder X3M Ensemble Builder, you will automatically download all the samples to the “Samples” directory. However, the tool is designed in such a way that it actually clears all samples, unless you load them into a zone. This means that not only do you have one patch with all the types of percussion you might need, but it is also optimized and won’t damage your RAM resources in any way!

Features of the new Thunder X3M engine:

  • 12 percussion zones – you can load instruments from different categories into 12 separate zones (low ensembles, high ensembles, ethnic percussion, epic metals, sound design percussion, distorted percussion) and thus create your own percussion pattern!
  • Pitch Knob – Allows you to adjust the pitch of the samples. It’s really useful to load the same instrument twice and then change the pitch of one of the zones. For example, load a Taiko low solo into zones 1 and 2, then lower the pitch of zone 2 all the way to the left. And now you have an even thicker taiko sound – don’t forget to turn on the subwoofer to make it even more amazing!
  • Transient control – transient attack and sustain work like a compressor; attack amplifies the beginning of the wave file, while sustain can increase or decrease the tail of the sample. They are just
PERFECT for getting even more punchy sound!
  • Separate volume and equalizer controls for each zone!
  • SAVE AND LOAD features to easily share templates between projects!
  • Built-in help file
  • Three microphone positions – Close, Decca, Hall
  • Two custom vintage analog hardware chains (NYC Compression and Sub-Bass Enhancement) that you can seamlessly blend to enhance your sound.
